5 Ways to Protect Yourself from the Flu

With flu season right around the corner, it’s time to begin thinking about how to protect yourself from this and other common cold-weather diseases, illnesses and infections. Here are a few helpful tips to keep in mind.

Get a flu vaccine – The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that everyone 6 months of age or older get a flu vaccine as soon as the current season’s vaccines become available. This is especially important for people at high risk of flu complications, including children, pregnant women, individuals 65 years of age or older and individuals who suffer from chronic health conditions.
